Dynamic Manufacturing has an opportunity to join our growing Software Controls team. Responsible for designing programing architectures and state machines to test and evaluate products on custom high complexity test benches. The software controls engineer will code and debug custom testing programs, determine I/O and control hardware component specifications, select sensing hardware, save, and manage data and write programming to operate machinery at a high level of proficiency. Candidate is expected to be highly skilled in LabVIEW, Teststand, C, and Ladder Logic. Core Responsibilities Mentor less experienced Software Control Engineers Assist in managing projects Interface and collaborate with Applications Engineers, Controls Engineers, Systems Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Product Engineers, Quality Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Maintenance Technicians and Calibration Technicians Design, create, edit, and if needed troubleshoot architectures for: Complex code, independently or on a team to control industrial and testing machines Vision Inspection Systems Industrial Barcode Scanning Systems Databases and database interface programs User-friendly PC-based Graphical Interfaces and HMIs Read and comprehend Electrical Schematics Education: Bachelors or advanced degree or equivalent experience (8-11 years) Practical experience and demonstrated knowledge of: Programming languages such as: LabVIEW, Teststand, C, Ladder Logic and Python Selecting and creating code to interface with data acquisition systems such as NI hardware, Measurement and Computing and PLCs (Automation Direct family brands, Allen Bradly, Omron), Arduino, Raspberry pi Saving and managing databases and results in Microsoft Access, SQL, TDMS, CSV Interfacing with and processing Analog, Digital, PWM and Frequency signals Creating user-friendly PC-based Graphical Interfaces and HMIs Communication protocols such as: Allen Bradley Ethernet/IP, Modbus, TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, Serial Reading electrical schematics using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Visio Cognex Vision System and Barcode Scanners Keyence and Banner Engineering product lines Advanced troubleshooting skills Ability to understand regular operation of equipment with minimal documentation Strong communication skills, Lean and continuous improvement mindset Organized, skilled in technical writing and thorough in documenting work Problem solving and troubleshooting skills The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed in this job.
