Quality Inspector

Job DescriptionOpenwork is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to join our client's manufacturing team in Salisbury, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with precision measurements, and ensuring products meet the highest standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Our client is a global leader in clean fuel solutions, helping drive the transition toward cleaner energy alternatives in the transportation industry. As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will play an important role in supporting manufacturing operations, improving product quality, and ensuring customer requirements are met.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform product inspections and monitor manufacturing processes according to established quality standardsInterpret mechanical drawings and specifications, including weld symbols, bend angles, locations, squareness, radius, thread sizes, and port depthsUse precision measurement tools to verify product accuracy and complianceIdentify and document nonconforming materials and equipmentSupport corrective actions, containment efforts, and quality improvement initiativesAssist manufacturing teams in identifying, resolving, and preventing quality issuesConduct process capability studies and Gage R&R evaluationsPerform internal quality and process auditsMaintain inspection, calibration, and quality tracking systemsConduct root cause analysis and support corrective/preventive actions using 8D methodologySupport supplier and customer PPAP documentation requirementsTrain Quality Inspectors on proper measurement techniques and drawing interpretationServe as a quality resource supporting daily production needsPerform additional duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required3+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality controlPrevious experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment requiredAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsExperience using precision measurement equipmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutionsPreferred QualificationsExperience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)ISO 9001 Quality Management System experienceKnowledge of SPC, Gage R&R, and quality tools such as control charts, check sheets, flow charts, histograms, and scatter diagramsExperience supporting new product launches and quality planningIntermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and conditional formattingWork EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing environmentRegular exposure to moving mechanical equipmentModerate noise level within the facilityPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk regularly throughout the shiftFrequent use of hands for measuring, handling, and inspecting materialsAbility to climb stairs and kneel while performing inspectionsAbility to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionallyRequires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focusApply today through Openwork and take the next step in your quality career!\nCompany DescriptionOpenwork is a candidate-focused staffing company on a mission to bring ease, accessibility, and thoughtfulness to an industry we’ve held a footing in for 50+ years.
