Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer – AvionicsLocation: Cedar Rapids, IAJob Type: Full-Time Job SummaryWe are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with experience in Embedded C++ and avionics software development to support the design, development, integration, and verification of safety-critical embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DO-178B/DO-178C, embedded Linux or RTOS environments, and the full software development lifecycle for aerospace applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software using Embedded C++ for avionics systems.Develop software in compliance with DO-178B/DO-178C standards for safety-critical aerospace applications.Participate in software architecture, coding, integration, verification, and validation activities.Work with embedded Linux or RTOS-based platforms to develop reliable real-time software.Perform software integration, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.Utilize Git or other version control systems for source code management.Follow software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and maintain technical documentation.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.2+ years of experience developing embedded software using Embedded C++.2+ years of experience in the Aerospace or Avionics industry.Hands-on experience with DO-178B or DO-178C software development processes.Strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills using C++.Experience with Embedded Linux or RTOS environments.Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for safety-critical systems.Experience with Git or other version control systems.Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and software integration skills.Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
