This role requires deep understanding of the Annuities value chain, lifecycle and data, with the ability to analyze how annuity submissions, case setup, policy issuance, and post‑issue events flow across upstream intake systems, policy administration platforms, and downstream financial and reporting systems. This role is accountable for translating business strategy into technology-enabled solutions, driving alignment across stakeholders, and ensuring delivery of initiatives that generate measurable business value.Working with a high degree of independence, the Senior Business Consultant leads complex, cross-functional efforts, influences decision-making at the leadership level, and ensures adherence to enterprise standards, governance, and risk management practices. This role may serve as a lead on large initiatives and provides guidance to less experienced team members.ResponsibilitiesApply and champion Talcott’s FAST (Flexible Architecture, Scalable Technology) principles to ensure solutions are modular, scalable, and aligned with enterprise technology strategy.Lead policy admin system (FAST) configuration following Talcott’s design principles in alignment with enterprise technology strategyPartner with architecture and engineering teams to promote reuse, standardization, and long-term sustainability of technology solutions.Ensure business requirements and solutions are designed with flexibility, scalability, and future-state adaptability in mind.Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into technology-enabled solutions.Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution design, and testing for complex initiatives working closely with cross functional and the vendor teams.Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful delivery.Serve as a domain‑aligned Senior BA for Annuities New Business, with strong understanding of case lifecycle, data elements, and business rules.Perform data analysis to trace and validate annuity data across upstream, administration, and downstream systems, identifying root causes of issues and gaps.Partner with technology teams to review data mappings, transformations, and integration points to ensure end‑to‑end consistency.Translate business questions into data‑driven insights, connecting system behavior back to annuity processes and outcomes.Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements.Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions to drive consensus and decision-making.Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, governance standards, and risk management practices.Support project delivery through all phases of the lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, and implementation.Mentor and guide junior analysts and consultants, promoting best practices in business analysis and stakeholder engagement.Monitor and measure outcomes of implemented solutions to ensure value realization.Can independently analyze complex annuity New Business scenarios spanning multiple systems and explain impacts clearly to business and technology stakeholdersBrings clarity to ambiguous, data‑driven problems and drives alignment across vendors and internal teams. Thinks end‑to‑end, not system‑by‑system, while aligning with FAST principlesQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field; and advanced degree is preferredMinimum of 7 years of relevant experience in business consulting, business analysis, or a related IT functionMinimum of 3 years of FAST experience in business analysis or configuration is requiredExperience working within FAST-aligned environments, with the ability to navigate applications, understand system boundaries, and contribute to scalable, modular solutions as a Senior Business AnalystRequired experience working in FAST (Flexible Architecture, Scalable Technology), with demonstrated knowledge of navigating through the applicationStrong working knowledge of the annuities line of business with a demonstrated ability to translate business terminology into technical requirementsDemonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with enterprise impact, and working with multiple vendor teams. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decision-makingExperience operating in environments with formal governance, risk, and control frameworksStrong understanding of business process, requirements management, and solution delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid). Demonstrated ability to analyze data and process flows across multiple integrated systems, including upstream intake/CRM, policy administration, and downstream platforms (e.g., finance, commissions, reporting.)Passion for driving team collaboration, positive client experience and productivityMust be able to manage competing priorities, Effective verbal and written communication with an ability to build relationships within a fast-paced matrixed environment Ability to proactively identify, define and resolve complex problemsStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with proven attention to detail CompensationThis range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees.
