Oral Health Educator
The State of Indiana is seeking an Oral Health Educator to promote oral health awareness and preventive care across schools, skilled nursing facilities, early learning centers, and community programs. This role focuses on educating healthcare staff, educators, children, families, and community partners on proper oral hygiene practices and overall oral health improvement.Key Responsibilities:Develop and conduct oral health training sessions and workshops for CNAs, school nurses, educators, and community organizations.Create educational materials including guides, pamphlets, posters, videos, and digital resources.Collaborate with healthcare providers, school administrators, and community partners to support oral health initiatives.Promote oral health awareness for children, elderly residents, and vulnerable populations.Support outreach programs, health fairs, and public health campaigns.Assist with program planning, reporting, data collection, grant proposals, and educational material distribution.Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or certification in Dental Hygiene, Public Health, Education, or a related field.Experience in health education, training, public health, healthcare, schools, or community outreach.Knowledge of oral hygiene, preventive dental care, and health education practices.Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.Ability to create engaging and culturally appropriate educational content.Experience with data management, program evaluation, or grant writing is preferred.Preferred Skills:Public health background.Experience working with schools, skilled nursing facilities, or community health programs.Ability to manage multiple projects and outreach activities effectively.
