The role includes preparing patients, operating EEG equipment, monitoring recordings, and ensuring accurate, high-quality data collection for physician interpretation while maintaining patient safety and comfort.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDrequiredBLS (Basic Life Support) certificationrequiredKnowledge of medical terminology and basic brain anatomyAbility to read, write, and understand verbal and written communicationPreferred QualificationsCompletion of an accredited EEG or Neurodiagnostic Technology programCertification or eligibility by ABRET (R.EEG.T), preferred orrequiredwithin 1–2 years of hirePreviousEEG experience, preferably in a hospital or neurology settingKnowledge of electrical physiology and neurodiagnostic proceduresEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and specialized EEG tests on patients of all agesPrepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning electrodes correctlyOperate EEG and related neurodiagnostic equipment according to established protocolsMonitor recordings to ensure quality and recognize artifact or abnormal brain activityDocument patient medical history, medications, and observations during the testMaintain equipment and clean electrodes according to infection control standardsAssistin long-term monitoring, sleep studies, and evoked potential studies as trainedProvideaccurate,timelydocumentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)Communicate clearly with physicians, nursing staff, and patientsEnsure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and regulatory standardsPerform other duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods during proceduresFrequent bending, reaching, and fine motor use for electrode placementManual dexterity for equipment handling and documentationExposure to patients with neurological conditions including critical care settingsAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment as neededAll candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position.
