2026-2027 Temporary School Social Worker at Northbrook Junior HighDaily Rate: $357.63 per day (based on MA degree + 30 credit hours for School Social Worker) Duration of Assignment: 8/17/2026 - 12/18/2026 (assignment may conclude in December prior to 12/18/2026) Schedule: 8:15am - 3:45pm Qualifications & Licensure: Illinois Professional Educator License with School Social Worker endorsement required Graduate degree from an accredited university; completion of acceptable graduate coursework in social work, and a defined period of supervised practical experience Experience in a K-12 educational setting is preferred Reports to:Assistant Director(s) of Student Services Performance Responsibilities:Provide leadership in the identification, design, and implementation of social emotional and behavioral support for students in general education and those who receive special education services Provide direct instruction and/or consultation that aligns with goals and objectives as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Support the generalization of skills across settings Demonstrate the ability to problem solve in the moment in the best interest of students Demonstrate the use of instructional strategies such as positive behavior interventions and supports, prompting hierarchies, visual supports, and sensory integration Participate in initial and 3-year reevaluations by completing social developmental reviews and adaptive assessments Serve as a member of the Crisis Response and Threat Assessment Teams Collaboratively conduct Functional Behavior Analysis (FBAs) on an as-needed basis Communicate with students, parents, teachers, other personnel, and outside agencies for the purpose of student evaluation, problem solving and/or managing crisis situations Case manage Section 504 Plans Terms of Employment:Temporary Position Application Procedure:Please upload to your application all undergraduate (and graduate) transcripts and at least three letters of reference District 28 Statement:Northbrook District 28 is a four-school district with approximately 1,800 students.
