Accounting Policy Officer

Policy Governance & Maintenance: Create, draft, periodically update, and implement corporate accounting policies to maintain internal controls, financial data integrity, and organizational compliance.Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Actively track emerging guidance from bodies like the FASB, SEC, and industry-specific regulators to proactively draft implementation roadmaps for new accounting updates.Financial Reporting & Disclosure Support: Collaborate with the financial reporting and SEC filing teams to formulate technical disclosure memos and ensure footnote accuracy within annual reports (such as 10-K and 10-Q filings).Stakeholder Consultation & Training: Formulate position papers or accounting memos to align expectations with external auditors, and deliver specialized technical accounting training to broader internal finance teams.Job QualificationsEducation & CertificationsA Bachelor's or Master's degree in AccountingAn active Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Professional Experience7+ years of direct experience in technical accountingPrior experience in public accounting (Big 4 background is highly favored) or a corporate technical policy role in highly regulated sectors like banking, insurance, or publicly traded enterprisesExperience with US GAAP and IFRS
