Position Type:Special Services/Speech and Language PathologistDate Posted:2/9/2026Location:Pinecrest ElementaryPosition: Fulltime Speech Language Pathologist, Pinecrest Elementary School / School Year: 2026-2027Start date: 8/20/2026Position Purpose: Under supervision of the School Principal and Director/Supervisor of Special Services, the Speech/Language Pathologist will work to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in articulation, language, fluency and voice needs while implementing district approved curriculum; document teaching and student progress, activities, and outcomes; address students' specific needs; and provide a safe and optimal learning environment.Compensation/Benefit Information:Salary range per the 2025-2027Teacher Master Agreement $55,951 - $88,905This position is benefit eligible. Please see the Teacher Master Agreement for details.Qualifications:Required Certifictation: Prek-12 Minnesota Speech Language Pathologist license issued through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language PathologySuccessful prior speech/language therapy experience in education system for the appropriate grade level and disability domains preferred.Essential Functions:Leads and directs the implementation of students' Individual Education Programs (IEPs).Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying communication issues, and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.Participate in multidisciplinary team for evaluation/assessment of a child, child's family, and in the development of integrated goals and outcomes for IEPsParticipates in Child Study Review Team discussions and assists in developing IEPs for students.Collaborate with educational staff about student communication needs and progressProvide and maintain 3rd party billing documentation for eligible studentsCoordinates with outside agencies, organizations and institutions, including state and federal authorities as needed.Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships with members of institutions of higher learning and the business community.Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, as required by district procedures and applicable laws.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to parents, students, staff and administrators.Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of students.Ability to collaborate with and provide direction to paraprofessionals.Proficient in meeting deadlines and managing daily record keeping and other due-process related tasks.Additional Duties:Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Director/Supervisor of Special Services, and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
