Position Title: Assembly Technician Department: OperationsClassification: Non-exempt Approved By: Human ResourcesREPORTING RELATIONSHIPPosition Reports To: Production SupervisorJob SummaryPerforms and completes assembly duties and responsibilities to produce a finished whole good by assembling parts and subassemblies of optical equipment for the military, law enforcement, and hunting communitiesEssential FunctionsPrepares work to be accomplished by following standard work instructions; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materialsPositions parts in specified relationship to each other using general knowledge of product Glues, screws, clips or otherwise fastens parts together using a variety of small hand toolsMaintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsMaintains all equipment and tools in good working condition by performing daily pre-shift inspectionsStrives to meet all established safety, quality, cost, and productivity standardsContinually seeks to improve production methods, equipment performance and overall quality of productAbility to learn a variety of different assembly stationsOther ad hoc duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITYNoneQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)Ability to sustain a high level of physical activity related to repetitive motion, lifting and manual dexterity of equipment and products which weigh up to 10 lbs. Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions which call for multiple different actions based upon product/descriptions, product quantities, product sizes and similar information.Good oral communication skillsAbility to sit for long periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive work while maintaining production time and qualityEDUCATIONHigh school diploma or GED required.Experience1+ years manufacturing experience preferred.BACKGROUND PREREQUISITIES Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification and reference checks.Preferred QualificationsElectronics and/or soldering capabilities a plusWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSWith or without reasonable accommodation, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions.
