Plant Operator

*Job Overview* Green Thumb Commodities is seeking a reliable, hard-working Plant Operator to join our team at our Jefferson, SD grain elevator location. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operation of the grain elevator, including receiving, storing, and shipping grain, as well as general facility maintenance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, works well as part of a small team, and takes pride in doing the job right. *Duties* * Receive, weigh, grade, and unload incoming grain from producers and trucks * Operate grain elevator equipment, including legs, conveyors, dryers, and scales * Load outbound grain for shipment via truck or rail * Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs * Monitor grain quality and storage conditions to prevent spoilage or contamination * Operate skid steers, forklifts, and other mobile equipment as needed * Maintain accurate records of grain weights, grades, and inventory * Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment * Assist with seed cleaning, cover crop, and bird food operations during off-peak elevator times as needed * Provide friendly, professional customer service to farmers and haulers *Qualifications* * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Previous experience in grain handling, agriculture, or a related industrial setting is a plus, but not required — we're willing to train the right person * Comfortable operating machinery and learning new equipment * Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions * Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods * Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail * Willingness to work extended and flexible hours during harvest season * Valid driver's license; CDL a plus but not required * Team player with a positive attitude *Work Schedule* Full-time position. Hours may vary seasonally, with extended hours expected during spring planting and fall harvest.
