Legal Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Specialist to join our Houston office. This role will provide legal and administrative support to local operations, with a focus on contract management, corporate compliance, and coordination with external legal counsel.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a professional law firm background, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration
Review, track, and manage a high volume of commercial contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements, and purchase orders.
Maintain contract records and ensure timely renewal and compliance.
Legal Documentation & Corporate Records
Prepare and maintain corporate documents, certificates of insurance, and business licenses required for Texas operations.
Support corporate filings and internal legal documentation management.
Compliance & Regulatory Support
Assist in monitoring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations affecting plant and business operations.
Support internal compliance audits and documentation.
Legal Research
Conduct preliminary legal research on regulatory changes, contractual matters, and industry-related legal issues.
Internal Legal Support & Liaison
Serve as the internal contact for legal inquiries.
Coordinate communication with external legal counsel and manage document requests and follow-ups.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
Paralegal certification is a plus.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Specialist, Paralegal, Contract Administrator, or similar role.
Prior law firm experience is highly preferred, with knowledge of legal billing, filings, and professional standards.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Experience with contract management or document management systems is preferred.
Soft Skills
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in Houston, TX.

Pay: $44,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
