Job Description
The Manufacturing Operations Intern will support day-to-day production and operational activities within the manufacturing environment. This role offers hands-on experience in process improvement, production planning, quality control, and cross-functional collaboration. The intern will work closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiativesShift: 1st shift (7:00 am - 4:00 pm) Monday - Friday w/ overtime as requiredPrimary Job Responsibilities:Assist in monitoring and analyzing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and productivitySupport production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization effortsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen events)Help collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesAssist with documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructionsSupport quality assurance efforts, including inspections, audits, and root cause analysisCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and maintenanceParticipate in safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and regulationsAssist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actionsPlace and follow up purchasing orders for Production needsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm solutions and contribute to project meetingsJob Requirements:Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or other related fields.Basic understanding of engineering principles and conceptsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesPhysical Demands:Standing and walking for extended periods in manufacturing facilitiesManual dexterity for handling tools and equipmentLifting and carrying objects up to approximately 25 poundsGood visual acuity for inspecting products and reading documentsEffective verbal and written communication skillsStamina to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasksRaycap is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
