Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.Create effective and engaging instructional curriculum specifically crafted to produce desired learning outcomes and support the goals of the businessEmploy a variety of teaching strategies conducive to motivating learning, including examples, practice, and interactivity Conduct needs assessments to analyze learner background and instructional needs Consult with internal customers regarding design, development and revision of their training products Determine course objectives and the appropriate sequence in which to address them, and develop assessment items that accurately measure learning outcomesMaintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure projects proceed in a timely manner and deadlines are metUse technology and multimedia appropriately to enhance trainingIdentify additional training needs by uncovering areas of opportunity using available data resources Maintain currency with instructional design / facilitation skills, industry trends and researchMentor other instructional designers / facilitators throughout the training development processComplete other tasks as required All you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training At least 2 years of experience applying instructional design to performance-based training At least 2 years of technical writing experience applying training methodologiesExperience working with rapid content development tool(s)Experience facilitating regulatory training programsPreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceExperience with learning management systems and knowledge of Articulate 360Skills, Licenses & CertificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.  Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologiesAcute attention to detailExceptional organizational skills and proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic work environmentStrong interpersonal skillsHighly approachable and professional at all timesAbility to assess training needs, consult with internal customers, and develop appropriate instructional curriculum that produces desired learning outcomesAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and writtenWhat You'll GetFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
