Senior Tax Accountant

DescriptionMy client well‐established CPA firm is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing tax practice. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, advising clients on tax planning strategies, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax expertise, public accounting experience, and a client‐service mindset.Key Responsibilities+ Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S‐corps, C‐corps, trusts, and estates+ Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues, compliance matters, and planning opportunities+ Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines+ Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, responding to tax inquiries and providing proactive advice+ Assist with tax planning, projections, and year‐end strategies+ Review work prepared by staff accountants; provide training and mentorship+ Assist partners with special projects, audits, and IRS/state tax notices as needed+ Maintain up‐to‐date knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting standardsRequirementsQualifications+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's in Taxation a plus)+ CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing)+ 3-6+ years of public accounting tax experience+ Strong experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns+ Solid understanding of federal and multistate tax regulations+ Experience with tax software and accounting systems (UltraTax)+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsPreferred Experience+ Client‐facing experience within a CPA firm+ Exposure to closely held businesses, real estate, and high‐net‐worth individuals+ Prior experience reviewing junior staff work and managing engagements+ What the Firm Offers+ Competitive salary and performance‐based bonuses+ Clear path for advancement and professional growth+ Support for CPA, CPEs, and continued education+ Flexible schedule and strong work‐life balance (outside of busy season)+ Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, PTO, and retirement plan+ Collaborative, team‐oriented firm cultureRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
