Construction Project Manager

Our client, DAVIS Construction, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and lead the execution of commercial construction projects across the DMV. This full‑time, headquarters‑based role is ideal for a construction professional with strong technical, financial, and coordination experience who thrives in a collaborative, high‑accountability environment.DAVIS is one of the region’s most respected 100% employee‑owned general contractors, known for its people‑first culture, operational rigor, and long‑term investment in its teams.As a Project Manager, you’ll play a hands‑on role across the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction and buyout through closeout—partnering closely with Superintendents, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.LocationOn-site, Rockville, MD (HQ-based with regional project assignments)What You’ll DoSupport and lead day‑to‑day project management activities from preconstruction through closeoutEnforce DAVIS’ safety program and participate in jobsite safety walks and auditsAssist with project estimating, bidding, and GMP development, including trade scope reviewsDevelop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and financial forecastingLead subcontractor buyout, contract negotiation, and subcontract administrationManage schedules, material status logs, and project controls to ensure on‑time deliveryReview and coordinate submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and contract documentsPrepare, negotiate, and execute change orders and budget revisionsLead internal, owner, and subcontractor meetings; prepare agendas and meeting minutesMaintain accurate contract documentation, as‑builts, and project recordsPrepare monthly owner billings and review subcontractor/vendor invoicesPartner with the Superintendent on logistics, sequencing, and site coordinationSupport closeout activities including punch lists, turnover documentation, and final reconciliationUtilize DAVIS quality management systems to ensure compliance with contract and company standardsWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)4+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably with a General ContractorStrong understanding of construction project management practices, including safety, quality, and cost controlExperience managing subcontractor contracts, buyout, and change managementWorking knowledge of schedules, budgets, and project controls systemsExperience with project management and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)Effective communicator with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple priorities and maintain a big‑picture view while owning detailsOSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)LEED project experience or certification preferredWhy DAVIS ConstructionDAVIS is the largest general contractor solely serving the Mid‑Atlantic and is known for its people-first culture and deep employee investment.
