IFP focuses on empowering local operators, providing the people, practices, and infrastructure that let them focus on what matters most: honoring lives and comforting families.Role OverviewThe Transfer Care Specialist plays a vital role in IFP's mission by ensuring the dignified and respectful transfer of decedents into our care. This is a part-time, on-call role compensated on a piece rate basis, well-suited for someone who takes pride in doing important work with care and professionalism, and understands the weight of the trust families place in us.Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to transfer and removal calls promptly, including evenings, overnight, and weekendsTransport decedents from hospitals, care facilities, residences, and other locations to our funeral home with the utmost dignity and careComplete required documentation accurately at the time of removalOperate and maintain the removal vehicle in accordance with IFP standardsCommunicate professionally with families, facility staff, and IFP team membersFollow all safety, infection control, and OSHA guidelinesQualificationsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to lift and maneuver 75+ lbs, often in confined or difficult spacesAvailability for on-call shifts, including nights and weekendsProfessional demeanor and strong interpersonal skillsPrior experience in funeral service, EMS, CNA, or a similar field is a plus but not requiredCompensationThis role is compensated on a piece rate basis at $100 per removal. Indiana law requires that total piece rate earnings meet or exceed minimum wage for all hours worked.
