Climbing Gym Attendant

As a Climbing Gym Attendant, you will be a vital part of our dynamic team, under the guidance of the Climbing Gym Supervisor. This role goes beyond routine tasks; it integrates you into youth programs and the daily operations of the gym, making it an extraordinary opportunity for individuals with a passion for adventure, a growth mindset, and a love for collaborative, fast-paced environments. Join us and become part of the excitement! What You'll Do Engage with members in a positive and professional manner, addressing their inquiries and needs. Navigate the climbing gym environment seamlessly, especially when working with our youngest climbers. Contribute to maintaining a structured and positive class environment. Keep the climbing gym pristine through regular walkthroughs. Assign climbing equipment in accordance with department standards and individual needs. Actively participate in risk management, including corrective actions and equipment checks. Uphold all safety policies and procedures, taking the initiative to eliminate potential hazards. Attend mandatory staff meetings, clinics, workshops, and special activities. Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Climbing Gym Supervisor and Outdoor Manager. Stay informed about general trends within the climbing industry. What You'll Bring Proficiency in top rope belaying with an Assisted Braking Device (ABD) or a strong willingness to learn. At least 1 year of experience working with kids. Minimum of 1 year in customer service or an equivalent industry, with proven success. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or a commitment to obtaining these within 90 days of hire. Willingness to obtain SafeSport certification upon hire. Strong multitasking ability, effective time management, and a proactive approach. Clear and compelling communication skills, with a talent for thriving in a collaborative environment. Successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience working in a climbing gym; proficiency in belaying with a grigri. 2+ years of personal climbing experience.
