SEIU 32BJ Training FundNew YorkPart-time Window Cleaning & Scaffolding InstructorThe 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified candidates for part-time Window Cleaning & Scaffolding Instructor for classes taught in Manhattan.About us:SEIU 32BJ is a service union that represents cleaners, maintenance workers, service staff, and security officers in the New York City area and nine other states on the East Coast. Our mission is to educate every member so that they have the tools they need to meet the challenges of a changing industry.Who we're looking for:Creative, dynamic teachers with good interpersonal skills who enjoy working in diverse linguistic and cultural settingsTeachers looking to empower workers through industry skills educationResponsibilities:Plan and implement lesson plans that are aligned to the program curriculum and incorporate the provided educational materials.Teach course content using a student-centered teaching approachMaintain and submit records of attendanceMaintain ongoing communication with supervisorParticipate in relevant professional development activities, as availableQualifications:Current 16-hour DOB Scaffold Certificate and 32-hour DOB Scaffold CertificateCurrent OSHA Construction or General Industry Teaching CertificateExperience in the window cleaning industryPrevious teaching experience (preferred)Excellent technology skills with the ability to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program dataStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgroundsCOVID-19 ConsiderationsRecord of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemptionCompliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organizationClasses offered2 mornings or 2 afternoons per week (TBD)Approximately 12 hours per weekLocation(s)25 W. 18th Street, ManhattanCompensation:$75 per teaching hourPaid preparation timePaid in-house training, coaching, and professional development opportunities
