In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core infrastructure that ensures the reliability, scalability, and performance of GitHub's database systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in database management, particularly with MySQL, and have a proven track record of building resilient, scalable systems in a distributed environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create self-service tools, optimize database operations, and implement disaster recovery strategies. This role offers the opportunity to influence the backbone of GitHub’s data infrastructure, supporting millions of queries per second and safeguarding critical data assets.
