Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing - Job Title: Hairdresser / Cosmetologist – Long-Term Care FacilityJob SummaryWe are seeking a caring and dependable Hairdresser (Licensed Cosmetologist) to provide hair care services to residents in our long-term care facility. This role plays an important part in supporting residents' dignity, comfort, and overall well-being through personal grooming services delivered with patience and respect.Key Responsibilities· Provide hair care services including haircuts, shampooing, blow-drying, styling, and basic treatments· Work with residents who may have limited mobility, cognitive impairments, or medical needs· Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area in accordance with infection control standards· Use gentle techniques and adapt services to meet individual resident needs· Communicate respectfully and compassionately with residents, families, and staff· Schedule and manage appointments efficiently· Sanitize tools and equipment according to facility and regulatory guidelines· Report any concerns related to resident comfort, skin condition, or scalp health to nursing staffQualifications & Requirements· Valid Hairdresser or Cosmetology license (as required by state/provincial regulations)· Previous experience working with seniors, healthcare settings, or special populations preferred· Strong interpersonal and communication skills· Patient, empathetic, and professional demeanor· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively· Knowledge of infection control and hygiene practicesPhysical Requirements· Ability to stand for extended periods· Ability to bend, reach, and assist residents as needed· Comfortable working in a healthcare environmentSchedule & Work Environment· Per Diem· Work is performed on-site within the long-term care facilityWhy Join Us?· Meaningful work that directly enhances residents' quality of life· Supportive, team-oriented healthcare environment· Opportunity to build long-term relationships with residents
