Payroll/Accounting Specialist

Job Overview Stark Sullen Grading, Inc. is seeking a Payroll / Accounting Specialist to support payroll, accounting, and HR operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with payroll, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Payroll & Accounting Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time using ComputerEase (construction accounting software) Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries and payroll tie-outs Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice verification and discrepancy resolution Prepare payroll, accounting, and management reports as needed Maintain organized documentation for audits and internal controls Payroll Taxes & Compliance Assist with or prepare quarterly payroll tax filings (Form 941) and related reconciliations Support year-end payroll and W-2 processing, including balancing and corrections if needed Ensure payroll tax liabilities align with payroll registers and general ledger accounts Workers’ Compensation & Insurance Reporting Prepare and support workers’ compensation payroll reports Assist with workers’ comp audits, including payroll summaries and classification support Verify payroll totals submitted to insurance carriers for accuracy and compliance Human Resources New hire and termination payroll processing Employee data changes and record maintenance Benefits administration and payroll deductions Requirements & Qualifications Payroll and accounting experience required (ComputerEase experience is a plus) Strong understanding of accounting principles, including: o General ledger accounting o Debits and credits o Journal entries Experience or exposure to: o Payroll tax filings (941s) o W-2 processing o Workers’ compensation reporting Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies Construction or trade-industry experience preferred Pay & Benefits Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience) Benefits Include: o Health Insurance o Dental Insurance o Vision Insurance o Life Insurance o Paid Time Off Work Location In Person – North Fort Myers, FL If you are looking for a stable, long-term role where accuracy, accountability, and teamwork matter, we encourage you to apply and join Stark Sullen Grading, Inc.
