This position would cover shifts between 7 a.m. 7 p.m. in our Crookston Clinic/Hospital and would have a weekend rotation once every 6 weeks from (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.).The Patient Access Representative:Answers phones and schedules patients.Greets and registers patients while collecting and accurately entering all information required for visit.Communicates clearly and effectively with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.Performs insurance verification either real time or manual verification for eligibility.Performs point of service, collection of co-pays and other patient liability.Obtains signatures for all necessary documents.Safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.This position will be cross trained to the Emergency Department for Patient Access responsibilities in that area when needed.Qualifications Required:Minimum two (2) years of customer service experienceAbility to sit, stand or walk for long periods of timePreferred:Experience in health care settingProficiency with Microsoft Office1+ years of experience in a Patient Access setting1+ years of experience with an Electronic Medical Record such as EpicBasic knowledge of medical terminology and medical insuranceCompetencies:Ensure accurate data entry for patient registration and schedulingAbility to work effectively in a team environment
