The role is based in Houston, TXA Day in the Life of a Structural Engineer at HansonHere’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:Support the structural needs of industrial sites and integrate structural design with civil, rail, and mechanical disciplinesPerform complex engineering calculations and utilize structural design software for analysis and designConduct structural analysis, prepare specifications, details, and construction plansAssist with site investigations, field reconnaissance, modeling, construction document preparation, contractor pricing assistance, and project close‑out documentationMentor and assign duties to entry‑level staffPrepare and review calculations, quantity take‑offs, and opinions of probable construction costsOther duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Technical SkillsProficiency with Revit (required)Experience with AutoCAD (desirable)Experience with MicroStation (a plus)Proficiency with MS Office Suite (required)Experience with structural design software such as RISA (required)Soft SkillsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and stakeholdersStrong relationship‑building skills with internal and external clientsAbility to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and learn new skillsInterest in a variety of assignments and continuous professional developmentEducation & Experience5–15 years of structural engineering experience (desirable)PE license (desirable)SE license or ability to obtain one (required)Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (desirable)Working at HansonAbility to collaborate remotely with colleagues across officesWillingness to accept periodic out‑of‑town travel assignmentsWillingness and ability to work overtime to meet project deadlinesSalary Range: $90,000 – $135,000BenefitsOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsWant to know more?
