The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent writing and analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest level of professional legal service to our clients.Primary Responsibilities:Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responsesAssist senior attorneys in all phases of litigation including case strategy, discovery, and trial preparationTake and defend depositionsParticipate in motion practice and court appearancesDraft appellate briefs and assist with oral argument preparationManage case files and maintain regular communication with clients, experts, and co-counselCollaborate with team members on complex, high-exposure casesPractice Areas:The associate will gain exposure to the firm's diverse defense practice areas, including:Medical malpractice defenseProduct liabilityCommercial litigationProfessional liabilityMass tort and class action defenseInstitutional liabilityAppellate practiceInsurance coverage disputesConstruction litigationQualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school2+ years of civil litigation experience (defense experience preferred)Active Illinois bar license in good standingStrong research, writing, and analytical skillsExcellent oral advocacy abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational skills and attention to detailCommitment to professional excellence and client serviceInterested in hearing more?
