The team is looking for someone who can step in quickly, bring strong systems knowledge, and help elevate payroll operations through precision, responsiveness, and process improvement.This Role OffersHybrid flexibility with a mix of onsite collaboration and remote workA stable organization with a long-standing market presenceStrong benefits package, including medical, dental, retirement support, bonus potential, and tuition assistanceExposure to complex payroll operations across multiple employee groupsA high visibility role partnering with HR, Finance, and operational leadersThe opportunity to contribute ideas that improve payroll processes and system performanceWhat You Will DoManage full cycle payroll for multiple U.S. employee groups, with occasional backup support for Canadian payroll activityUse Workday Payroll and UKG time data to validate earnings, deductions, shift premiums, and exception items before each pay runReview payroll tax balances, quarter end filings, and year end activities to support accurate multi state complianceApply collective bargaining rules and internal pay practices across both union and nonunion populationsPartner with HR, Finance, and site leadership to resolve pay issues, audits, off cycle payments, and employee updatesMaintain payroll records, reporting, and reconciliations with a strong focus on controls, confidentiality, and data accuracyIdentify process gaps and recommend system or workflow improvements that increase payroll efficiency and reduce errorsSupport audits, ad hoc reporting, and payroll related projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentWhat You BringHands on experience with Workday PayrollBackground managing end to end payroll with minimal oversightExperience supporting both union and nonunion employee populationsStrong understanding of multi state payroll compliance and payroll tax practicesExperience working with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms such as UKG or KronosAbility to interpret policies, pay rules, and payroll inputs with a high degree of accuracyStrong Excel, reporting, reconciliation, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and a service-oriented approachPayroll certification such as CPP or FPC is preferredExperience in manufacturing, industrial, or other large hourly workforce environments is strongly preferredExposure to Canadian payroll support is a plusAbout Blue Signal:Blue Signal is an award-winning, executive search firm specializing in various specialties.
