OverviewPosition: Consumer Sales Representative-RetailWork Location: On site at 6980 Quinn St. Bldg 2355 Fort Carson, COType of Position: Full Time – 40 Hours per WeekHourly Rate: $19.23 with Uncapped CommissionHours: Tuesday-Saturday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMSign on Bonus: $2,500The Consumer Sales Representative-Retail is a key contributor to TDS's overall consumer strategy to grow, delight and retain customers. The role handles walk-in customers at retail stores and inbound calls when no customers are in the office. It serves as the primary point of contact for consumer inquiries regarding products and services, owning a deep understanding of all consumer offerings, pricing, procedures, promotions, and systems used to place orders, update billing, and maintain customer contact records.In addition to base pay and a comprehensive benefits package, the role has monthly sales goals for key strategic products such as Voice, High Speed Data, TV, Mobile, and Strategic product sales. The representative must meet these goals while maintaining high customer service quality for additional commission incentive programs.ResponsibilitiesDeliver sales & retention results through exceptional customer service: exceed or meet monthly sales goals for strategic products by face-to-face and phone interactions; use negotiation and interpersonal skills to prevent churn and promote services that fulfill customer needs.Handle moves, adds, changes, and disconnect inquiries, consult customers on service calls, and identify technology needs to offer suitable TDS product solutions.Follow cash management procedures for accurate handling of customer payments and deposits.Resolve construction-related issues in specific markets by creating and completing Triage tickets.Stay current with promotions, products, and technology to exceed or meet sales and retention goals; maintain punctuality and regular attendance.Manage retail office duties such as restocking supplies, securing office, maintaining cleanliness, participating in community events, and coordinating space use with other departments.Complete special projects assigned by the supervisor.Required Qualifications1+ years' experience in a sales or customer service role.2+ years of computer experience (including order applications, Microsoft Outlook, Word, or Excel).Adherence to TDS attendance guidelines to meet business and customer needs.Valid driver's license.Other Qualifications6+ months of experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks.6+ months of experience working with detailed data.Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills for customers seeking service disconnects.Capacity to handle high volume phone calls in a structured contact-center environment.Understanding of the telecommunications industry and its products and services.Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, listening).Problem-solving skills for customer complaints and competitive issues.Successful completion of classroom training is required.Demonstrated success in a competitive sales environment.Ability to work overtime with advance notice.Ability to work a shift ending at 8:00 p.m. CST Tuesday-Saturday, weekly.Experience with escalated customer issues and problem resolution, both over the phone and face-to-face.BenefitsAssociates scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week receive:Medical CoverageDental CoverageVision CoverageLife Insurance401(k) PlanGenerous Vacation & Paid Sick LeaveSeven Paid National Holidays & One Floating HolidayPaid Parental Leave (6 weeks after 12 months of employment)Adoption & Surrogacy AssistanceEmployee Assistance & Wellness ProgramsAssociates working 30 or more hours per week additionally have access to:Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityTDS Service DiscountsEducation AssistancePaid Volunteer TimeAll associates have the opportunity to participate in Associate Resource Groups for community building and professional development.Equal Employment OpportunityAt TDS, we are committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and value the difference of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
