The ideal candidate will support young learners' academic, social, and emotional development and provide a joyful, developmentally appropriate introduction to school. This position emphasizes building foundational skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and early childhood best practicesCreate a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' social, emotional, physical, and academic growthUse a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based and hands-on learningSupport early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skill developmentFoster curiosity, communication, creativity, and collaborationAssess and monitor student progress using formative assessment practicesCommunicate regularly and effectively with familiesCollaborate with colleagues, specialists, families, and the school communityParticipate in professional learning to remain current with early childhood standards and instructional practices QualificationsValid CTDOE certification in Elementary, PK-6 (305)Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related fieldStrong understanding of early childhood development and kindergarten instructional practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environmentCommitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration Preferred QualificationsExperience teaching kindergarten or early primary gradesExperience integrating technology in developmentally appropriate waysKnowledge of best practices in early childhood instructionExperience working in a diverse and inclusive school community
