Camp Counselor for Summer Exploration

Job OverviewWe are looking to recruit 6 dedicated Summer Camp Counselors for an 11-week AmeriCorps service opportunity, commencing on May 30th, 2022, and concluding on August 12th, 2022. This role offers a valuable chance to engage with youth and facilitate enriching educational experiences in the beautiful Galena Creek Regional Park.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Summer Naturalists to implement dynamic camp programmingSupervise and ensure the safety of participants aged 8 to 17Facilitate engaging outdoor activities, including games, crafts, and guided hikesAssist with the preparation and delivery of environmental science education curriculumEnforce camp rules and COVID-19 safety protocolsParticipate in community outreach initiatives at the Galena Creek Visitor CenterPerform other duties as assigned to enhance the camp experienceRequired SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to inspire and engage youth in educational settingsTeam-oriented with a collaborative mindsetCreativity in planning and executing camp activitiesExcellent organizational capabilitiesPassion for environmental science and nature conservationQualificationsMust be 18 years or olderPrevious experience working with children or youth preferredA strong interest in environmental education and community serviceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework in environmental science or education is advantageousCareer Growth OpportunitiesBy joining our team, you will gain invaluable experience in environmental education and community engagement, positioning you favorably for future opportunities in education, non-profit sectors, or environmental organizations.
