About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Small Engine Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of outdoor power equipment. From lawnmowers and chainsaws to generators and snowblowers, you will be the go-to expert for ensuring our customers' gear runs at peak performance. If you enjoy hands-on problem-solving and have a passion for small engine systems, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnostics: Identify mechanical, fuel, and electrical issues in 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines. Maintenance: Perform seasonal tune-ups, including oil changes, spark plug replacement, air filter cleaning, and blade sharpening. Repairs: Rebuild carburetors, replace recoil starters, fix ignition systems, and perform internal engine repairs. Testing: Test-run equipment post-repair to ensure all safety features and performance specs are met. Parts Management: Look up parts diagrams and maintain an organized inventory of common components. What We're Looking ForTechnical Proficiency: Solid understanding of fuel systems (carbureted and EFI), ignition timing, and compression. Efficiency: Ability to manage a steady workflow of repair tickets during peak seasons. Attention to Detail: Precision in cleaning and assembling small, intricate engine components. Customer Service: Ability to clearly explain repair needs and estimates to customers. RequirementsProven experience working on brands like Honda, Stihl, Husqvarna, Briggs & Stratton, or ToroFamiliarity with pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and diagnostic meters. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) onto work benches. Relevant vocational training or manufacturer certifications (EETC) are a plus.
