Locum Tenens Opportunity: Physician Assistant ??? Cardiothoracic Surgery ???? near Long Creek, South Carolina We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a background in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join a high-performing medical team in South Carolina. This is a locum tenens opportunity offering the chance to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings at a leading adult-only facility. Key Responsibilities: Provide surgical assistance in the operating room, including vein harvesting and first assisting on all open-heart procedures. Deliver pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Manage a daily caseload of approximately 10 patients, including 5 admissions, 5 ICU cases, and 4 surgeries. Collaborate with a team of 4 physicians and 7 mid-level providers to deliver high-quality care. Participate in scheduled and on-call duties, with weekday calls at 5% and significantly higher weekend call responsibilities. Schedule and Setting: Work hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Work environment: Primarily hospital-based (90%), with some outpatient clinic duties (10%). Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable). Facility capacity: 720 beds, exclusively adult patients. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery. Active South Carolina Physician Assistant license required. ACLS certification and DEA registration are mandatory. Proficiency with Epic EMR is preferred. Flu vaccination is required, with exemptions considered for medical or religious reasons.
