Join a High-Impact Expansion Project in a Growing Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing FacilityTechnical Source is seeking an experienced Clean Utilities / Process Equipment Engineer to support a major expansion within a state-of-the-art drug substance manufacturing facility in North Carolina. This role sits within the Utilities Engineering team and plays a critical part in delivering new process and clean utilities systems from design through commissioning and qualification.You will serve as an engineering lead responsible for ensuring equipment systems are successfully designed, integrated, installed, and qualified to meet operational, regulatory, and performance standards. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a highly visible capital project while working alongside cross-functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.What You’ll DoIn this role, you will support the full lifecycle of process and clean utilities equipment on a large-scale capital project, from early design coordination through system startup and qualification.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, integration, and delivery of process and clean utilities equipment for facility expansion projectsCoordinate installation, commissioning, and qualification (C&Q) activities for assigned systemsCollaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams to ensure successful project executionSupport equipment startup, performance testing, and operational readinessEnsure systems meet regulatory, quality, and operational requirementsIdentify risks, resolve technical issues, and drive solutions across project teamsParticipate in facility shutdown planning and execution activitiesMonitor project progress and communicate updates to stakeholdersSupport continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiativesSystems & Utilities You May SupportCandidates should have experience with one or more of the following:Water for Injection (WFI) systemsClean Steam systemsProcess Air systemsProcess Chilled Water or glycol systemsClean utilities distribution systemsHygienic piping and fabricationProcess control system integration (e.g., DeltaV or similar platforms)What We’re Looking ForWe are seeking a hands-on engineer who can take ownership of equipment delivery within a regulated manufacturing environment and collaborate effectively across technical teams.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline6–10+ years of engineering experience supporting capital projects in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing Experience supporting design, installation, commissioning, or qualification of process or utilities equipmentFamiliarity with clean utilities systems in manufacturing environmentsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work onsite and coordinate with cross-functional project teamsPreferred ExperiencePharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences manufacturing experienceExperience supporting large capital expansion or greenfield projectsKnowledge of cGMP regulations and regulated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with ASME BPE standards or hygienic system designExperience supporting facility shutdowns or system cutoversExperience working with engineering firms, contractors, or equipment vendorsWhy This Opportunity Stands OutHigh-visibility capital expansion project within a modern manufacturing facilityOpportunity to lead equipment delivery from design through qualificationExposure to complex clean utilities systems and advanced manufacturing operationsCollaborative engineering environment with strong project supportLong-term project stability with meaningful technical ownershipStrong career-building experience in the life sciences industry
