Research and Development Technician

Position SummaryThe R&D Process Technician is responsible for supporting the development product and process platforms from R&D into the production manufacturing process with the pilot scale. The R&D Process Technician will be supporting the hands-on operation and maintenance R&D pilot process equipment, working closely with the R&D process engineering team.Responsibilities IncludeComply with best laboratory practices, including safety and environmental regulations Actively support all safety programs and initiativesHands on setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of pilot process equipmentPlanning and completing assigned pilot product and process experimentsAuthor clear, concise interpretive reports, memos, and work instructionsParticipate in safety audits and Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) Participate on various R&D and multi-disciplinary teams, cross training, and supporting all R&D process technologyParticipate on 5S Teams, sustaining the pilot Center of ExcellenceRequirementsAssociate's degree or mechanical certification Mechanical aptitude Innovative, organized, self-starter with good problem-solving skillsCollaborative interpersonal style Excellent communication skillsPreferred QualificationsTwo or more years of experience in laboratory or pilot experienceKnowledge of pressure sensitive tape manufacturing technologyBachelor's degree in science or engineeringWorking ConditionsThe R&D Process Technician will generally work daytime hours but must be willing to work off-shift and weekends to support specific initiatives. Must be willing to spend time on the production floor and work closely with production personnel. Must be willing to work near hazardous chemicals when provided with the proper personal protective equipment and SDS information.
