The line cook reports directly to the General Manager. Success in this role requires excellent teamwork, good listening skills and an ability to gainfully contribute to the success of the business.Line Cook Job Duties & Responsibilities:Prepares a variety of food items for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipmentAssumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products servedKnows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and proceduresStocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service periodPortions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specificationsMaintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, convection oven, and refrigeration equipmentPrepares item for grilling, frying, or other cooking methods by portioning, seasoning and/or marinatingFollows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishesHandles, stores and rotates all products properlyAssists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as neededCloses the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchenAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementPerforms other related duties as assigned by the General Manager.Line Cook Qualifications:A minimum of 1 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant trading area.A dedication to excellent customer service, a strong working knowledge of food safety, and a brisk working pace.Ability to receive and maintain inventory, which involves routinely lifting heavy boxes daily.Highly organized professional working ethic, with a solid hands-on approach.Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, an open mind and a strong desire to work within and develop deeper knowledge within the specialty foods arena.Enthusiasm for helping others, whether it is the customers and neighborhood we serve in or fellow teammates.Be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 6 hours).Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
