As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job ResponsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops and maintain high-quality user interfaces for web applications using JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks, with a preference for React/AngularDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersWorks closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between the front-end and back-end systemsTroubleshoots and resolve front-end issues and bugs in a timely mannerCollaborates with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into interactive and responsive user interfacesEnsures the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalabilityIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And SkillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)- JavaScript and experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework, React or AngularSolid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principlesExperience with version control systems, such as GitProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleProven experience as a UI Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your workAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And SkillsKnowledge of testing frameworks and tools, such as Jest or Enzyme Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API Familiarity with front-end build tools and package managers, such as Webpack, Babel, and npm/yarn About UsJPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
