Sr. Algorithm Development Engineer
This position is responsible for the implementation, evaluation, and testing of algorithms and mathematical models for the Eversense continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, as well as data processing and analysis of sensor and study data. This includes developing and maintaining Python-based data pipelines, running and analyzing datasets through those pipelines, and creating scripts and tools as needed to support algorithm development efforts. The individual will apply understanding of the math and signal processing behind the sensor to investigate and resolve sensor-related performance and accuracy issues and will present findings to internal stakeholders. The role requires strong proficiency in Python and MATLAB, experience in C/C++, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment with effective communication and presentation skills.Responsibilities:Serve as a leading technical contributor in the implementation, evaluation, and testing of mathematical models and signal processing algorithms for processing data returned from the Eversense CGM systemsDevelop and maintain Python-based data processing pipelines; run, analyze, and manage large datasets to support algorithm development and evaluation effortsCreate and maintain scripts, tools, and analysis workflows as needed to improve efficiency, reproducibility, and throughput of data processing (including parallelization where applicable)Apply data-driven analysis and understanding of mathematical modeling, sensor systems, and signal processing to investigate sensor-related performance and accuracy issuesWork with internal staff and cross-functional teams to process sensor data, summarize findings, and present results to support algorithm and product development decisionsDevelop and run controlled unit tests for processing and analysis tools, and extend test coverage and supporting tooling as new workflows and project requirements emergeMaintain technical skills in data analysis, programming, and algorithm knowledge at a high levelRequirements:MS (PhD preferred) in Engineering (Electrical, Biomedical, Applied Physics), Computer Science, or in a related field (Physics, Math) with additional work experience5+ years of professional experience in mathematical modeling, data analysis, R&D, or scientific computing; medical device (preferred) or other regulated industry experienceExtensive scientific coding and data analysis skills (Python, Matlab, R, C/C++)Ability to independently, intuitively and creatively solve problems based on data driven approachesSelf-motivated to contribute in a fast-paced start up environmentProficiency with version control systems (Git, SVN) for development and maintenance of code and toolsAbility to meet high standards for quality and accuracy under tight deadlinesStrong time management and multitasking skillsStrong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
