TRS Senior AssociateThe TRS Senior Associate is responsible for executing, leading and training a team of TRS Staff in business restructuring and bankruptcy related engagements, including bankruptcy litigation and financial due diligence, and addressing complex questions and issues under the direction of a TRS Principal, Director or Senior Manager.Job DutiesPartners with the Principals and decision-makersCollaborates with debtor clients in restructuring the client's businesses in and out of Chapter 11Prepares and analyzes complex, detailed cash flow forecasts and financial models together with assumptions and detailed supporting schedules.Assists with refinancing efforts and sale transactionsAssists clients with downsizing operations, and meeting operational and financial goalsWorks with buyers such as hedge funds, equity sponsors and companies in acquisition due diligenceAssists creditors with obtaining the most favorable distribution of assets from companies undergoing formal bankruptcy proceedings or informal workoutsEvaluates management to determine ability to operate and reorganizeEnsures compliance with all court filing requirementsInvestigates transactions with insiders, financial institutions and other creditors to determine causes of actionReviews financial statements and recommends changesFunctions as a business advisor to clientsCreates interactive models and operational and financial analysis and prepares financial memorandumsSupports business development activities with appropriate financial research, including preparation of new business proposalsWorks in crisis environments while delivering consistent high quality work in an accelerated fashionWillingness to travelOther duties as requiredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises the day-to-day workload of TRS Associates and Interns on assigned engagements and reviews work productEnsures TRS Associates and Interns are trained on all relevant software and resourcesDelivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for TRS Associates and InternsActs as mentor to TRS Associates and Interns, as appropriateQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEducation:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field requiredExperience:Three (3) plus years of experience with a national restructuring firm, management consulting firm, investment bank, large accounting firm, or similar financial institution performing audit, financial recovery or restructuring services required.Prior experience working within a national public accounting firm or consulting organization preferredStrong financial analysis and complex modeling skills including expertise with cash receipts and disbursements analysis, financial statement modeling/forecasting, valuations and the due diligence processesLicense/Certifications:CPA certification preferredCTP and/or CIRA designation beneficialSoftware:High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office SuiteOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skillsSuperior analytical and research skillsAbility to structure complex analyses, gather and analyze data and provide insightsSolid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detailsAbility to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environmentExcellent research abilities including familiarity with Capital IQ as well as other research sourcesProven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyCapable of effective managing a team of professionals and delegating work assignments as neededCapacity to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnelAbility to successfully interact with professionals at all levels, inside and outside of BDO, including attorneys, financial advisors, clients and prospectsSuperior interpersonal, communication, marketing, sales and organizational skillsIntermediate knowledge of bankruptcy and insolvency processIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $80,000 - $105,000 Maryland Range: $80,000 - $105,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $80,000 - $105,000
