Job Title: CNC Operator Job Location: Bloomington, IL 61704 Job Type: Contract Job Duties: Reads and understand process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating as needed. Mounts work piece between centers, in chuck, or in fixture. Depresses buttons, and starts machining operation on one or more machine tool. Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustment, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts. Can make size\tooling offset changes. Inspects first run piece and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications. Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run during automatic controlled cycles. Maintain clean and neat work area, including machine and floor . Fills out time cards, process sheets ,tub cards completely and accurately and completes reject tags on all F.S. or machine scrap and places rejected material in proper location by the end of their shift. To complete machine set-ups with a low degree of difficulty solely on their own in the allocated time frame. Complete first article inspection. Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED (preferred by many employers). Ability to read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches. Knowledge of CNC machining, including machine setup and operation. Ability to read and understand common G-codes and M-codes. Ability to make tooling and size offset adjustments. Experience performing first article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges). Ability to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications. Experience completing machine setups with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of machining feeds, speeds, and cutting operations. Ability to maintain accurate production documentation, including process sheets, time cards, reject tags, and production records. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts. Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required (often up to 25–50 lbs, depending on the employer), and work in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines or similar machine tools in a manufacturing environment. 1+ year of experience or knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Schedule: 2nd Shift Evening Shift 2 PM - 11 PM 40 hours/week SAL01 Pay: $25.00 per hour Experience: operating CNC machines or similar machine tools : 2 years (Required) GD&T: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
