Title: Logistics Coordinator IWork Location: Miami-Dade FL 33178Work Type: OnsiteDuration: 6-month contract with a possibility of further extensionJob ID: 1595-1SummaryResponsible for administering efficient and economical movement of cargo; resolving cargo transportation needs and/or processing documentation within established deadlines.General Responsibilities:- Manage tasks involving the movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.- Ensure invoices are accurate and align with physical shipments and customer/other regulatory requirements.- Review proposals and make recommendations and/or modifications in rates as needed.- Ensure compliance with all U.S. regulatory agencies.- Serve as a liaison with customers by keeping them updated on the status of cargo being transported.- Prepare, review, approve, and maintain files for import/export documents.- Determine cargo classifications according to tariff specifications.- May be required to interpret, review, and apply appropriate rates to bills of lading based on applicable tariffs, timely and accurately, while staying compliant with rules and regulations.Education :High school diploma or equivalent required.Coursework after high school and/or job related training preferred.Experience :2–5 years general office, transportation/logistics experience preferred.Knowledge of ocean/air documents, customs forms, and regulations preferred.Technical Proficiencies:Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.OtherBilingual (English/Spanish) may be required.Job Scope :Position impacts multiple business units/segments.Working Conditions- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and similar conditions.- Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing a computer monitor, and ability to sit for long periods.Competencies- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.- Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.- Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions.- Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.- Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data related to assigned activities.- Ability to function effectively independently or as part of a team.- Skill in preparing clear and concise documents (reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials).- Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in domestic and/or international contexts.- Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.Comments :• Customs Broker• Background in perishable commodities is a plus• Experience working with government agencies is a plus• Schedule: Monday–Friday (must be open to overtime)• Standard shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may require extended hours)• Early start at 7:00 AM is a strong plus• Must be willing to work holidays if requiredDataSoft Technologies is a highly recognized provider of professional IT Consulting services in the US.
