We’re on a mission to shape the future of voice, and we’re building a team that’s curious, collaborative, and passionate about making great ideas heard. About the Role  We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Business Affairs & Commercial Contracts professional to support the negotiation, drafting, and execution of commercial agreements while partnering closely with business stakeholders to drive revenue and manage risk. This role sits at the intersection of legal, finance, and operations, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the deal lifecycle. No agencies, please Responsibilities  In this role, you’ll take ownership of the following key areas: Business Affairs & Deal SupportServe as a primary business affairs partner to sales, product, partnerships, and leadership teamsAdvise on and create deal structure, commercial terms, clauses and risk considerationsSupport negotiations with clients, talent, vendors, and strategic partnersCollaborate with finance on revenue share agreements and partnership structures between Voices and our partnersEnsure deals align with company strategy, policies, and risk toleranceSupport enterprise RFP responsesCommercial ContractsDraft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including:Client and Talent services agreementsMaster services agreements (MSAs) and statements of work (SOWs)Licensing, sponsorship, and partnership agreementsVendor and procurement contractsIdentify contractual risks and propose practical, business-focused solutionsMaintain contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflowsSupport contract lifecycle management, including amendments and renewalsEnsure compliance with licensing restrictionsEnsure dataset usage restrictions are clear and enforcedCross-Functional CollaborationAct as a liaison between legal, finance, sales, and operationsEducate internal teams on contract terms, deal risks, and best practicesImprove contract processes to increase efficiency and scalability  What You BringWe’re looking for someone who brings some or all of the following:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school required; active bar membership in either New York or California required5+ years of experience in business affairs, commercial contracts, legal operations, or a related fieldStrong experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreementsExcellent business judgment with the ability to balance risk and commercial objectivesProven ability to partner with sales and business teams in a fast-paced environmentExceptional communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience in media, technology, SaaS, or professional services environmentsFamiliarity with licensing, IP, or talent-related agreementsExperience working alongside external counselStrong understanding of Privacy Laws, and AI Laws by State Compensation  Hourly Range:  $80.00 – $100.00 USD *This role may be structured as either an independent contractor engagement or part-time employment arrangement. Additional NotesAll interviewed candidates will receive notification within 45 days of final interviews.Our Use of AI in Recruitment: We use an AI tool in our applicant tracking system (Jobvite) to check how well a candidate’s experience aligns with the job requirements.
