ECISD HEAD CUSTODIAN-ELEMENTARY 2026-2027

Job Title: Head Custodian - Elementary School Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports to: Custodial Foreman Pay Grade: 5 Dept. /School: Facilities Days: 247 Primary Purpose To provide a safe, clean, attractive and efficiently maintained building for students, and teachers to learn and develop scholastically. Qualifications To demonstrate the aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities Experience: 2 to 5 years' experience as a custodian Reports to: Custodial Foreman Major Responsibilities and Duties Directs and oversees responsibilities for other custodians Has responsibility for opening and closing the building, controlling the temperature in the building, and for the general cleanliness of the building Instructing custodial staff in the use of equipment, chemicals, and materials Responsible for training and evaluating their building custodial staff Assist in developing work and time schedules for custodians Assume responsibility for care and condition of equipment Assume responsibility for ordering and maintaining an inventory of custodian and housekeeping supplies and materials Perform inspections of building conditions and reports to the principal or supervisor Assume responsibility for directing minor building repairs - (mechanical, electrical, carpentry or other) Responsible for cleaning a portion of the building, the same as a regular custodian Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
