Ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant operation of electrical systems across campus facilities.Based on the recent Proclamation: Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B), VSU will not be sponsoring any new H-1B visa petitions until further notice.ResponsibilitiesTypical Allocation of Duties:Perform Electrical Installation, Maintenance, and Repairs - 45Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including power distribution systems, panels, wiring, lighting systems, and associated components. Diagnose electrical issues and implement corrective actions in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards.Respond to Service Requests - 20Respond to work orders and service calls related to electrical systems. Assess issues, determine necessary repairs, and complete work in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruption to campus operations.Perform Preventative Maintenance - 15Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment in accordance with established schedules and institutional standards to ensure system reliability and safety.Inspect Systems and Identify Issues - 10Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, code compliance issues, or potential failures. Ensure work performed meets applicable electrical codes and institutional requirements.Maintain Tools, Equipment, and Work Areas - 10Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in proper working condition. Ensure compliance with safety standards and institutional policies.Required QualificationsRequired ExperienceHigh school diploma and three (3) years of related work experience.
