Dental AssistantReports to: Dentist / Operations LeaderFLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)Department: OperationsEmployment Status: At-WillIncentive Eligibility: EligibleJob SummaryThe Dental Assistant has the skills, responsibilities, tasks and expectations to assist/support the dentist in delivering exceptional care to all patients under the guidance and support of the dentist and Operations Leader. The dental assistant contributes to the financial and non-financial success of the practice by ensuring that patients are the number one priority when they arrive at the practice. The dental assistant gains the trust of the patient within their licensure and/or training.Working under the Direction of the dentist and Operations Leader, the tasks and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant include but are not limited to:Sets up/breaks down rooms and operatories to ensure a safe environment for the patients and Dentists.Prepares patient for treatment, sterilizes instruments and dental furniture, sets up trays and prepares materialsAssists dentist chair-side during proceduresTakes quality / acceptable radiographs, x-rays, panoramic x-rays, digital scans and 3D images as prescribed by the dentistProvides post operative instructions to patients as neededInstructs patient in oral hygiene when appropriateManages lab cases, keeps equipment maintenance logs up to date and prepares charts in advance for patient safety, office efficiency and the patient experience.Enters relevant / important information and keeps records into the practice management in support of / under the direction of the dentistUtilizes tools skills and talents to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their needs and helping them get healthier and happier.Has a "yes mentality" when helping patients.Makes a positive first impression with patients by phone or in person.Be a champion of the Marquee Dental Partners Mission, Vision, and ValuesEnsure that ALL patients have an extraordinary experience in a Marquee officeHold self accountable for successful completion of projects, job duties, and all company deliverables.Complete Continuing Education as required for self and staff.
