Location is Bethesda, MD. Duties include: Chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performs venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation;order and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record; maintains examination/procedure room supplies; assists with efficient patient flow; assists with orientation of new staff; and participates in quality assurance programs. HOURS: Days 40 hours LOCATION: Suburban HospitalEDUCATIONA high school degree or GED equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.KNOWLEDGE* Familiarity with computer based patient appointment scheduling, registration systems and Electronic Health Record) strongly preferred.* Medical terminology required.* Familiarity with medication and vaccination administration required.* Two years' experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.* Five or more years of specific applicable MA experience in primary medical care may be substituted for formal training program provided eligibility for RMA (American Medical Technologists) exam. Current MA certification must be maintained.CERTIFICATIONS* Successful completion of Medical Assistant Certification Exam.* Medical Assistant Certification required. CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), RMA (American Medical Technologists), NRCMA (National Assoc. for Health Professionals) or NCMA (National Center Competency Testing), RCMAS (National Certification Medical Assoc.), or CCMA (National Health career Assoc.)* Valid CPR or BLS certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
