Special Education Resource Aide Hourly rate: $17.75-$18.25/hr. Benefits information attachedQualifications:Paraprofessional License issued by the Illinois State Board of EducationAbility to successfully complete a pre-employment physical, fingerprint-based background check, and Employment History ReviewReports to: Building Principal, District AdministrationJob Goal:To support the lead teacher in maximizing student achievement and individualized growth by providing targeted academic reinforcement.Job Responsibilities:Delivers reading, writing, and math reinforcement to individual students or small groups using the intervention strategies and materials under the direction of the teacher.Monitors and supports implementing the IEP by providing accommodations as directed by the teacher.Supports the development and implementation of accommodations and modifications based on individual student needs.Facilitates activities that help students practice the specific skills targeted in their individualized education plans (IEP).Records accurate data on student performance and behavior during intervention sessions to assist the teacher with progress monitoring.Provides immediate feedback to the lead teacher regarding student progress or specific challenges observed during small-group sessions.Monitors and supports student behavioral progress according to established plans, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.Demonstrates awareness of student safety and maintains accurate knowledge of student whereabouts.Maintains a high level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct.Performs other related tasks as assigned by the building principal or district office administrator.Terms of Employment: Part-time, up to 30 hours per week on school days when children are in attendance. Institute days as requested by the administration.Evaluation: One written evaluation per year and every other year after three consecutive years of employment. Evaluations completed by the principal.
