You will lead a team of Android engineers, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality technical solutions that reach millions of users worldwide.You will be a key technical leader within our Android organization and will collaborate closely with our iOS, QA, Product, and Engineering Management partners across our global offices.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Android SDK engineers, fostering growth, accountability, and engineering excellenceArchitect and design SDK solutions that span multiple teams and serve diverse business requirementsSynthesize product, partner, and business needs into clear technical designs and high-quality implementationsDrive the evolution of our advertising-focused SDKs, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability across the platformEstablish and continuously improve Claude Code and other AI-assisted workflows to enhance team-wide code quality, productivity, and efficiencyLead code reviews, set engineering standards, and champion best practices across the Android teamPartner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Staff engineers on feature definition and executionInvestigate and resolve complex creative rendering, performance, and integration issuesOversee the design and maintenance of test apps used to validate SDK functionalityDefine and own the unit and integration test strategy for SDK componentsAuthor and review technical documentation for SDK integrationStay current with Android ecosystem trends and share insights to elevate the team's technical capabilitiesWhat You'll DriveStrategic direction for SDK architecture and design within the mobile advertising domainPerformance optimization initiatives, including memory profiling, startup time, and battery efficiencyIntegration patterns with third-party ad networks and mediation platformsAdoption and maturity of Claude Code as a core component of the team's development workflowWebView and HTML5 content rendering strategies within native Android applicationsCross-platform alignment and collaboration with iOS teamsCI/CD workflows built on GitHub Actions and Bazel, including automated testing strategy and quality gates for LLM-assisted code contributionsEngineering culture, mentorship, and career development for the Android teamKey Skills & ExperienceRequired:Demonstrated team leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, driving technical roadmaps, and cultivating a high-performing team cultureStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to engineering, product, and business stakeholders across our global teams in the USA, Poland, and UkraineHands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate engineering workflows, improve code quality, and drive team-wide productivity gainsExperience designing testing strategies and validation workflows that verify the correctness, safety, and reliability of LLM-generated code, including code review practices, automated checks, and appropriate guardrails before mergeHands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, matrix builds, and release automation for SDK distributionProduction experience with the Bazel build system, including authoring and maintaining BUILD files, managing dependencies, and optimizing build and test performance for large-scale codebasesProven track record of architecting and designing cross-team systems, with the ability to synthesize stakeholder requirements and business needs into clear technical designs and production-ready codeStrong understanding of Kotlin coroutines, structured concurrency, and threading models, including practical experience designing concurrent and asynchronous workflows in AndroidA proactive ethos: a self-starter who anticipates challenges, identifies opportunities for improvement, and drives initiatives to completion with minimal oversight8+ years of commercial mobile development experience, with at least 5+ years focused on AndroidSubstantial SDK development experience, including versioning strategy, backward compatibility, and developer-facing API designExpert proficiency in Kotlin and JavaDeep expertise with architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean ArchitectureComprehensive knowledge of core Android concepts, including Activities, Fragments, Services, application lifecycle and state management, UI development (XML layouts and Jetpack Compose), and networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp)Proficiency with Android Studio and the Gradle build systemStrong software testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testingSolid understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON data handlingWorking knowledge of iOS/Swift development to support cross-platform collaborationProficiency with Git version control and modern branching strategiesNice-to-Have:Published apps on the Google Play StoreExperience scaling SDKs used by millions of
