Substitute Speech Facilitator - Special Education (Virtual Services)/ParaProfessional SubstituteEmployer: Hillsdale County Intermediate School DistrictPosition Type: Substitute (through EduStaff)Reports To: HCISD Special Education SupervisorPosition SummaryHillsdale County Intermediate School District is seeking a Substitute Speech Facilitator to assist with virtual and in-person speech and language services for students receiving Special Education services. This position works under the supervision of a licensed SLP to implement IEP-based activities, support student communication goals, and ensure accurate documentation. This position does not conduct evaluations or provide independent therapy. When not acting as a speech facilitator you may be assigned to a classroom as a para-professional.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist students and providers with technical issues related to online platforms, software, and hardware.Ensure all equipment (computers, webcams, microphones, etc.) is functioning properlyEscort students to and from speech service locations per the provided scheduleSupport students during live virtual therapy sessions and monitor engagementSet up and maintain physical spaces conducive to virtual and in-person instructionManage classroom logistics, including seating arrangements, materials distribution, and cleanlinessProvide one-on-one or small group support for students needing additional assistance with online platforms or instructional materialsOffer emotional support and encouragement to students adapting to remote learning environmentsCollaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and address barriers to online engagementEnsure the safety and well-being of students in physical classroom settingsEnforce school policies and procedures related to behavior and attendanceMonitor student interactions to maintain a positive learning environmentMaintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy activitiesRegular attendance is an essential part of employmentPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperience working with children and/or students with disabilities preferredAbility to follow therapy plans and maintain confidentialityComfort with virtual platforms, technology, and basic troubleshootingStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsMust have the ability to travel between assigned schools throughout the countyAdditional InformationThis is a substitute position through EduStaffEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of background checks, which include a review of criminal history and fingerprinting.Employment DateThis position is available with an immediate start date.Please do not apply with the apply button through this site you MUST apply through Edustaff by following the hyperlink provided here.
