This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys digging into the details, keeping financial information clean and accurate, and helping leadership understand the numbers behind the business.If you are organized, reliable, and ready to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations in a growing company, this could be a great next step.What You’ll DoResponsibilitiesAs an Accountant at Fibersmith, you’ll support the daily financial operations of the company while helping ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and useful. Responsibilities may include:Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processesMaintaining general ledger activity and supporting month-end and year-end closePreparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other management reportingReviewing transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company processesSupporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning effortsAssisting with audits, documentation, and GAAP complianceReconciling accounts and researching discrepanciesHelping leadership understand financial trends, risks, and opportunitiesRecommending process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and visibilitySupporting other accounting and finance tasks as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate is detail-driven, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy matters. You should be able to manage priorities, communicate clearly, and take initiative when something needs to be cleaned up, clarified, or improved.QualificationsDegree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredCPA is a plus, but not required5+ years of accounting experience preferredStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingExperience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and close processesProficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizationAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesClear communication skills and a professional, team-focused approachMulti-entity accounting experience is a plusWhy Fibersmith?At Fibersmith, you’ll be part of a team that values practical problem-solving, strong execution, and continuous improvement.
