The Staff Accountant plays an important role in supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the North America corporate headquarters entity. You'll gain hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and audit support while working closely with cross-functional partners and receiving guidance from experienced accounting professionals.This role operates in a hybrid environment, balancing focused independent work with in-office collaboration and learning opportunities.What You'll Do:Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting workpapers for North America month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in accordance with the close scheduleAssist with the analysis of accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accountsSupport net sales reconciliations, including shipments-in-transit adjustments and product allocationsPartner cross-functionally with Legal, Marketing, Sales, R&D, Tax, and other teams to understand account activity and develop accruals, prepaids, and deferralsAssist with analysis of monthly profit and loss and balance sheet results and prepare supporting documentation for management reportingPrepare U.S. Census and other required governmental financial reportingCollaborate with controllership teams at domestic manufacturing locationsAssist with preparation of annual audit workpapers and year-end financial statement footnotesIdentify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the monthly close processParticipate in ad-hoc projects and special initiatives as needed by Finance leadershipWhat We're Looking For:Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting required1+ years of public and/or private accounting experienceExposure to general accounting and month-end close processes preferredCPA license is a plus, but not requiredSkills & AttributesKnowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, IF statements, and Pivot Tables), Word, and OutlookExperience with ERP systems; Oracle experience preferredStrong analytical and critical-thinking skillsClear written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a hybrid work environmentComfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with a teamSelf-starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityWhy Join us:BenefitsAt Combe, we go beyond offering a competitive salary - we're committed to offering outstanding benefits that empower our employees to thrive.
