As an independent firm, we have the flexibility to build comprehensive, customized solutions that are in the best interest of our clients; as a fiduciary this is a requirement. Over the past 5 years the firm has grown from 18 families and $70M AUM to nearly 90 families and $295M in AUM.OverviewThe Associate contributes first and foremost to 103 Advisory Group’s mission by delivering first class service. Further, the Associate will work closely with the firm’s Partners and have accountability for data work flow projects and client service tasks such as completing new account paperwork and client on-boarding, as well as other functions such as building and creating various reports, meeting preparation, investment portfolio reviews, trading, and research collaboration.Our ideal candidate is an individual that has a proven ability to successfully prioritize and complete multiple tasks under supervision and clearly defined deadlines. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to identify and solve problems, communicate clearly and effectively, own workflow processes from start to finish, have keen attention to detail and thrive in a collegial, hard-working environment.The expectation for this position is for the individual to grow with the firm over time. This is a great opportunity for someone that wants to make a difference day one and be a ‘go-to player’ as our firm expands within Chicagoland and nationally.ResponsibilitiesThe Associate, in conjunction with the Partners, provides premiere support to the firm’s clients. The Associate will work closely with the Partners on assigned client accounts. He/she will play a pivotal role in ensuring all operational and service-related tasks are completed regularly with high levels of accuracy. We expect additional tasks to include analysis of client accounts, correspondence with/between the Partners and clients as it pertains inquiries on a wide variety of topics, and other tasks as appropriate. The Associate will also participate in various firm projects. Key responsibilities include:Data Work Flow & Operations (45%)Develop an understanding of the depth and breadth of 103 Advisory Group’s businessSuccessfully complete data entry tasks as assignedDaily systems review including new account audits, trade reconciliation reviews and documentation, and addressing alerts posted by technology service providersServing as a liaison between Partners and technology service providersEnsure daily transaction posting is accurate between technology service providersAssist with data integration processes as neededClient Service and Relationship Management (40%)Maintain professionalism with team members and clients in all communication, written or verbalResponsible for completing new account, and account transfer, paperworkAssist with client account transitions, account retitling and/restructuring, and account closing processesSupport the Partners with assigned relationships and participate in client meetings/conference calls when directedRespond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner and complete ad-hoc service requests as neededProduction of accurate and timely meeting materials, including presentation books and agendas Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management (10%)Respond to internal and external ad-hoc inquiries on a wide variety of investment topics including general market conditions, portfolio management, investment products, and investment policy guidelinesMaintain an understanding of general economic conditions, political events, stock market indices and bond market yieldsAct as liaison to aggregate information from 103 Advisory Group’s various research providersSome trading will be expected, subject to professional licensing and experience Attend investment meetings and/or conferences when directed by the PartnersBusiness Development (5%)Assist Partners in deepening current client relationshipsTakes an interest in developing relationships with individuals, centers of influence and industry professionalsQualificationsFor this role we will consider candidates that are recent graduates.Ideally, the Associate is expected have 1-3 years professional experience within the financial services, asset management, or accounting industry. Previous experience working alongside an advisor and/or portfolio manager in a client facing role is desirable, but not required. Previous experience with financial planning and income tax analysis is also desirable, but not required.Required must haves:Sound judgement, great communication skills (written and oral), and the ability to present oneself professionally in both individual and group settingsThe ability to work independently, in an entrepreneurial environment, where priorities may (and do) change frequentlyIs comfortable taking initiative and owning processes from start to finish with very high levels of accuracyTeam player, accountability and handling assigned tasks with a positive attitude Ideally would like to have:Interest in, or progress towards, CFA Institute Level 1 or 2Interest in, or progress towards, the CFP® Certification or CIMA® Certification Program FINRA Series 65 license (If none, required to obtain within 3 months of hire date)An understanding, working knowledge and/or previous experience with investment asset classes such as fixed income, equities, alternatives and money market funds is required.Is this an opportunity that you think fits your background and experience?
